Anyone know a source for front head gasket and set of head bolts for 98 SHO. Obsolete and no Ford dealers have in stock. Rebuild gasket sets are available, but cost $700. John

Try Torrie at http://www.fastpartsnetwork on the complete gasket set, I bet he can beat that $700 price handily and you can sell the leftover gaskets and make a good amount of your money back. IIRC, dealer cost on that gasket set is about $450.

I have been able to get Duratec headbolts to fit the V8 by cutting 3/8" off then ends of the bolts. I have not installed them and tested them on a running engine, though.
Doug at FPS has head bolts if Torrie can't scrounge any for you. As for the full gasket set Torrie won't be able to scrape all that much off of the $700. I'll have to look for my receipt but IIRC I paid in the mid $600 range back in March. If you only need a head gasket Ray at Midnight Auto has some up on ebay.
