That's not a good way to diagnose a blown headgasket. Check the oil and see if it's got anti-free/water mixed with it. It would look like chocolate milk. Also your car would be eating coolant and your low coolant light would eventually go on. Just letting the car sit and overheat doesn't mean it's got a blown hg, it could overheat b/c the fan is dead or you have a coolant leak.
