Are the 3.0L head bolts reusable if they're not old? ..only have about 10k on them. Also...are the Apex head gaskets good ones?

Head bolts are reusable.

I have Apex head gaskets on my 89. No issues with them. I lined them up with the old gaskets coming off and they looked identical.

I though head bolts are torque to yield? Wouldn't you replace head bolts after removing them?

FYI.....any bolt that is NOT "torque to yield" is reusable.

You wouldnt believe the amount of bolts we throw away at my dealership. Stuff that I'd put loctite on and move on, Ford says replace. They waste so much money.

I think from their perspective that they are actually saving money because of the liability of reusing things....from a corporate standpoint servicing millions of vehicles....the liability would be staggering.

I think I remember v8 owners reusing TTY bolts because they couldn't get replacements at one point. That's what happens when design flaws burn through spare part supplies.
