The V6 head bolts are not TTY. They are reusable.I though head bolts are torque to yield? Wouldn't you replace head bolts after removing them?
I think from their perspective that they are actually saving money because of the liability of reusing things....from a corporate standpoint servicing millions of vehicles....the liability would be staggering. You wouldnt believe the amount of bolts we throw away at my dealership. Stuff that I'd put loctite on and move on, Ford says replace. They waste so much money.
I think I remember v8 owners reusing TTY bolts because they couldn't get replacements at one point. That's what happens when design flaws burn through spare part supplies.FYI.....any bolt that is NOT "torque to yield" is reusable.
