Hello so I had built an engine and im getting ready to put it in and iw as just reviewing things. I noticed in the book i used it told me to torque the head bolts to 20-23 lb-ft then rotate an additional 85-95 degrees. This is what the book told me at the time. This seems awfully loose? i tried to find other sources with the head bolt specs but failed anybody else seen these specs anywhere?

That is the correct procedure. Final torque is probably 75-80 lb-ft. A good angle torque wrench will tell you the final torque. Torque and turn gives a more consistent torque value than single stage torquing.
