He/She is wrong. I had the exact same problem. It is the multi-function switch. You can get one at FPN for about $40 and install it yourself in under 30 minutes.

Bob...I've got a question? Does the mfs from FPN come with instructions on replacement? I need to order one asap as my turn signals are going crazy on me...think the contacts are bad. Any info is appreciated!

Tom,

It a very easy job. You will need a couple phillips head screwdrivers and torx bits.

Basically, you remove the metal trim below the steering wheel. Remove the plastic trim that covers the steering column. Only the bottom piece must be completly removed. Remove the two connectors into the multifuntion switch. Remove the two torx screws holding the multi-function switch.

If you need it fast go to an auto parts store. You do not need to get another OEM part. Quality will be no worse, might even be better.

To install the switch you ned a phillips screwdriver, a T25 torx wrench (might be a T27) and a nail with the tip ground flat or small allen wrench.

Disconnect the battery.

Put the key in run and with the allen wrench push up into the hole under the key cylinder which does not have a screw in it, release pressure and pull the key and cylinder out.

Take the three phillips screws out on the bottom of the column shroud. Remove the column shroud.

Remove the two torx screws and unplug the two connectors on the MFS.

Reverse for install.

Yep, definitely the multifunction switch - they aren't two separate switches - the multifunction switch also controls the hazards.

A temporary quick fix that has worked on the two SHOs I have come across with this problem is to push the hazard switch down, so it's in the on position. Even though they won't flash, the turn signals will start working. The only drawback is that the turn signal lights up front will always stay on with the lights on, but will flash like normal when signaling.

I know this probably sounds rediculous, but just try it - a friend of mine drove around for two months without signals, but refused to take the time to install a new mfs - I tried pushing down the hazard switch on his car, and now he has signals! It's been that way for over a year, and he still won't fix it! :D

Wait...is the hazard button down when on or off? Mine are acting all funky and the button is down all the time.

I also noticed my high beams don't flash when I pull back on the stalk, but my low-beams go out. The high beams do work if I push forward.
