Just a thought, but has anyone ever tried to approach Ford to see if we can get our hands on development and testing information concerning the first couple generations of the SHO? I'd be very interested in the engine R&D myself...

I poked around the website looking for a way to shoot an email to someone, but they have that locked up tight. Maybe there will be a way on Linkedin... Anyways, if someone has already tried this, then maybe I can track down the engineers directly.

I reached out to ford directly a few years ago in regards to remanufacturing or giving permission to remanufacture certain Obsolete components on the first 2 Gen's and was responded to with a one word email that read "NO"......Yamaha Japan is willing to reproduce parts as needed but since ford still owns the patents on everything they cannot reproduce anything without ford's written consent...that wont happen, the SHO was a project that was purposely killed because it was and still is a threat to their "pride and joy Mustang"...even over 30 years later apparently it is still a threat and can not be released from their grasp. Mahle is willing to remanufacture the mains and rod bearings but Ford shut them down too...nobody can reproduce them on original Ford contracts....i have reached out to Yamaha Japan, Mahle, and even Mazda Japan (for transaxle) and they all 3 said the exact same thing....they are all willing to help but their hands are tied by Ford!

Ford can forever suck Bull butter as far as I am concerned!1

i do have a local company that is willing to recreate the 89-95 main bearings and rod bearings but they have a minimum order of 1000 sets....that would take the whole community to make that happen.

I also have a local gear manufacture that can manufacture the HD gear sets for us at a little over $5K on a minimum order of 10...but there again, it takes a community to make it happen.

Well... shit... Guess once I get rich off of GME I'll take care of this myself. Hire a couple kids out of MIT to CAD the whole engine and reproduce it on CNC. Maybe a little generative design action to lighten everything up a bit?

I hear 3D-printed pistons are all the rage right now...

By the way, how’s your build going @Jbeck ?
i started her up a couple weeks ago and she purrs like a Tiger after 4 years of being torn apart and manhandled....i am hoping to have her driving again at least in gokarting stage so I can start working out some bugs if any in next couple months.....all I have left is building the braking system

ABS system has been successfully deleted with wiring
Airbag system has been successfully deleted with wiring and components
Power Steering system successfully deleted and all components
