Hard to steer

Hey everyone,

I've recently noticed that sometimes my steering seems a bit stiff and harder to turn. It's more noticeable when it is first turned on and gets better as the car is used.

I suspect the battery is the issue but I was hoping to get some confirmation of anyone has noticed the same. The battery is testing a bit below is advertised CCA and I just haven't gotten to changing it out yet.

No codes, no other weirdness.

I'm not sure what year it was, but I remember a TSB or something stating that the connectors on the electric assist can corrode.

Hook up a volt meter to the battery and turn the wheel while standing still, and see how far it drops. If at all.

I will hear the engine strain and see the lights dim if I turn to fast on idle. And I know the battery is not at capacity. I'm going to pick one up today and change it out with my son and see if it makes a difference.
