I've searched around and haven't found too much. Anyone have instructions or a link on replacing the driver's side halfshaft? I'm guessing the procedure is similar to a SLO but I've had a hard time finding instructions for that too. I can probably do it without instructions but just not as quickly.

I take the shaft and knuckle out as one piece then mount the knuckle in a vice to pound out the shaft. Be sure to protect the shaft threaded ends if you are going to reuse it.

Other than that, using the two pitman arm removers you can get at AutoZone, use the small one for the tie rod end and the large one for the ball joint.

Ok thanks, there's an Autozone nearby and I had to borrow that tool when I replaced the lower ball joint on the passenger side last year.

Leave the castle nut on so the Pittman arm remover won't slip off.

DOes the tranny give up the axles pretty easily, or do you have to pry like the dickens to get them to release?

On mine they popped out very easy. But I never replaced the rings that you are suppose to. I pried between the tranny and the axle with a large screwdriver.
