What size socket is required to remove the nut on the half shaft and once the hub is out of the way, how do you get the half-shaft out of the trans case?

Thanks!

The hub nut is a 30mm. I recommed an impact socket, about 10 bucks or so. That puppy has 200 Ft-Lbs on it so use a breaker bar and a cheater might be required as well.

The half-shafts have a C-clip? on the ends that go into the transaxle. A nice hard tug usaully works for me. If you have trouble try and pry it out with a large screw driver or the like.

Pretty ez job.

FWIW, watch the ball joints when you do this job. You don't want to rip the ball joint boot.
