I'm a memeber on www.DSMTuners.com and a guy by the name of "theboogieman" works for http://www.carbonwerks.com/ I asked if he'd be interested in doing work on SHO's and Contour SVT's. He said yeah and wants to know if there is any interest and pics of what people want. I figure you guys can check out the site and e-mail them or I can get ahold of him for you guys.

Let me know or e-mail the site.

Carbon Fiber hood that is paintable for under $500 and I'd bet he'd sell a few! Carbon Fiber trunk lid would also be cool. I'd buy these things. :)

Carbon fiber is bueno... I'm all about the cowl hood... Someone has a PS'd pic of a "Saleen" SHO. It's SO bad... I want that. I'd be willing to drop a grip on something like that. It's just bad ***.

Ditto. The weight savings would be very nice. I'd prefer something more stock looking like the plus hood to some crazy cowl hood. Don't want to make my SHO look like a muscle car.

Are we talking exterior parts, or cosmetic interior dress up? Everything on their site is the latter. If that is all they will do, I will pass. If we can get some body panels going, I would be in. Besides the aforementioned hood and trunk lid, I think front fenders would be nice also. Depending on where they are located, I am even willing to volunteer some panels.

I think a CF hood would be nice with an opening like the EVO on this pic at the http://www.carbonwerks.com/ web site. I think that will function great with the car getting fresh air to cool the intake manifold and or the hole engine compartment. I would buy one of these. Pluse having creases on it would look awesome too!

I'd be interested in a CF hood for Gen2's. I'd like something with a slight cowl to it that follows the rounded lines of the car. Kinda like 94-96ish mustang hoods, slight cowl with vents would be cool. I'd also be interested in fenders depending on weight.

Prices comes into play, $500 mark for a hood is kind waht I would see the "breaking" point as to adding that or just staying stock.

I'd be interested. I wonder if SCCA STS class allows CF hoods? It would really help my SHOs weight problem over the front wheels.

I've been PMing Leo " theboogieman" and giving him the heads up on this thread ( just sent him a link ). Here is his reply from today

"What is the main years these models stay the same? It would not be worth it to make a part that can only fit on a car within a 2 year period.
Secondly I would want to start off with the trunk first, the hood second, and fenders last..if I do fenders at all. I am still working on those for DSMs, so it will be awhile for other cars. I do not see this starting thouhg for a few mnths till I get cuaght up with current projects and such. I am swammped right now with orders and it is just ME!
Leo"

So guys, you might have to wait, but if Leo is still down with doing CF parts for SHO in a few months, I know it will be worth it.

Yup! CF Hood and Trunk Lid Mega-Ditto!

I'd be very into a CF hood, paintable or not! Trunk lid, too, but would prefer that be paintable.

Damn, I wish I could remember who had the Photoshop'd pic of the "Saleen SHO"... I'd die for a kit like that. Even if they could modify the kit for a 'stang to fit a SHO.

Front fenders would be the icing on the cake.

Going back to the plus style hood I mentioned, some well placed NACA ducts might be nice. Would just hint that something interesting lies underneath. I'd want to see it in a photoshopped pic first to make sure it looks good.

I sent an email through the carbonwerks webpage yesterday. I hope that this does happen!

Funny this thread comes out now. I just had my spoiler wrapped in green carbon fiber, a triple pod and right a pillar wrapped in black carbon fiber, and the sail panels for the doors, also wrapped in it. Thinking of a custom carbon fiber setup, in the hole where the PS airbag would be (I dont have one tho.. :) ) I think this stuff would definitely be a go, I'd be on for a hood and trunklid, depending on price!
