I was just wondering if anyone mounted their guages in places anywhere else than the a-pillars and where the cigarette lighter is. I was thinking about putting the directly in the dash, but i was just wondering if there are any other ideas. Thanks alot.

Oh,that makes a difference then. :) I`m not sure in that case. You can move the ECC down to a DIN slot, and mount some there, but i`m not sure how it would look.

Hey Frosty PM me sometime so we can meet up agian. No other place will really look good on a gen 2 thats why i went with the a pillar and cassette are. Well you could put some in the din area if you have the ford cassette deck or a aftermarket deck then you would have an extra place.

Check it out. Gen 2, 95 MTX, one of a kind mounting pod. Ebay, $12. Slight sanding and grinding to get it to fit the curve of the dash.

on my Gen1, i moved the EATC to where the radio was, placed radio in DIn slot below it, removed cup/coin holder completely, and installed my triple guages where the EATC was. 3 minutes of trimming the console trim and EATC, 30 minutes to rerouting and reinstalling everything.

Since I had my dash apart last night I was doing some brainstorming and came up with an idea I've never seen yet-relocate one of the center heat vents to the passenger side dash (think G3 SHO), lose one of the vents, then fashion a plastic piece into the space with the guages installed in them. Not only is it much more visible to you driving the car, you can easily fit 4 guages in that space. Just an idea shrug

Same here, look like they belong there.

If you don't mind my asking, what was the oil press reading in that pic?
All warmed up, it's right at 10 psi. The motor was not fully warmed up though - it usually gets to 185 deg F on water temp. I believe the water jacket gets hotter than that, but the sender location is not directly in the water flow path.

Following up on my last post - these two gauges are a must in my opinion. I don't run the rpm's up until I see the oil press & water temp at normal operating range. It's amazing how long it actually takes - 15 minutes on a cool spring day!
