I received the upper and lower billet grills I ordered from GTG today, the parts themselves look really nice but communication doesn't seem to be their strong point so I'll ask you guys.
There were no instructions included with either part (my car is a 2013 fwiw). It had a sheet of paper with some very vague instructions (one paragraph) that didn't seem to match what I have in hand and some wording to refer to pictures that weren't included.
Here are some basic questions for those of you that have the products

1) Did you get an actual instruction sheet and did it include pictures?
2) Did it require removal of the bumper cover? (I know how to remove it, but if it's not required, I'm not going to pull it and the paper seemed to indicate it wasn't necessary).
3) Did the upper grill have 4 pre drilled holes? (Mine has 2 studs at the bottom and what looks to be 2 tab slots in the third slit location from the top at each end, and no holes). Once again the sheet indicated it should have 4 pre drilled holes which aren't present???
4) Lastly, it came with 2 "Y" shaped brackets marked DS and PS, the sheet called out as "L" brackets.

Throw me a bone any way you can, I'm going to keep trying to contact GTG. I did a phone order and was told they'd email me instructions at that time. When I didn't receive them, I sent an email letting them know to verify they had my correct email address but no response after a week. Called twice today to voice mail. I'm taking a weeks vacation soon and I'm shooting for that time to do the install but I'm not going to cob things together. Thanks again for any advice. I can post pictures if it helps.

Most Definitely. It's quite possible that I'm making more of the install than need be? I'll post up the sheet I have and parts. I cant see any way possible that you wouldn't need to pull the bumper cover and the "Y" brackets and missing holes are a bit of a mystery.

My home email is no secret if it's easier for you or anyone that has info to offer or needs my help.
[email protected] (seemed good 25 years ago, these days it probably draws a bit of attention)

Your car should like like this when you start. Don't get scared. Take the facia off the car. You need to remove the entire factory grill assembly as well as the lower. All the chrome is gone. From there start by taping the outside of the facia to prevent scratches.

I'm going to take mine apart tomorrow to show you where the "l" brackets go.
Also, you see the number on the steel bumper?? Remove the sticker, clean and spray paint the bumper. black or red, like your car. it is visible through the grill.

If you'd prefer to communicate through email or PM let me know. I thought the info on here might help the next person.

***Upper grill has (2) slots in the 3rd grill opening and (2) studs at the bottom
***Lower grill uses (4) studs)
***There are NOT any predrilled holes or welded tabs as stated in the instructions below on my upper grill unless I'm mis-reading something???

The forum works fine for me. I'm a new car/fleet tech by trade and we take this stuff apart all the time so bumper cover removal isn't a problem. Thanks for the tip on painting the stuff behind the grill, that wasn't even a thought before.
One of my concerns actually probably makes things easier, I had a Limited that hit a deer in my body shop line last week and snapped this pic that shows what resides behind the chrome surround. I'm guessing you probably drill the stud holes pretty much dead center to the lip on the cover once the grill and surround are off.

Sometimes a pictures worth a thousand words. Your pic doesn't completely show it, but if I'm reading this right from what I see, what I thought were tab slots at the top of the grill are actually bolt adjustment slots that clamp the grill to the bracket and allow for adjustment from side to side?

Just out of curiosity, did yours only attach at the bottom with two studs, nuts (drill your own holes in the bumper cover). Looks like I did the same thing you did and used speed nuts on the mount nearest headlamps instead of the small machine screws in the kit. The small machine screw and nut in the location you have circled kind of draws the bracket into shape against the grill in my experience, then just some gentle pushing and tweaking on the brackets/grill to center and gap the grill to the opening. For whatever reason unknown to me, mine came with 4 other small machine screws/nuts about an inch in length that I had no clue as to what they were for. I was kind of surprised that that big assed grill only attached at two points on the bottom and the two tabs at the top but it's fairly stout.

Thanks for the tip about painting the metal bumper black. One other thing for anyone that might come across this, if you have a car that was any color other than black, you may want to paint the plastic tabs on the bumper cover that retained the old grill black also to help hide them as they are visible up close through the new grill.
