Good MAF?

Is a 76mm FMS MAF with hose for 5.0L Ford w/24lb injectors a good maf for a 94 ATX?

No unless you have a LPM or Tweecer so the ECU will understand what the MAF is sending.

yea it should work, assuming you can get your tweeter working though. i saw you had some problems w/ it. but even though yes, you could get it working, its not worth it. i dont think youll notice any gains. unless of course your goin forced induction or something, but that alone, dont waste your time.

It may or may not work depending on how well the calibrator does his/her job. The best way to go on a N/A engine IMHO is the 80mm MAF and LPM. I have this combo on my car since 1997 with out problems and passed California emissions testing.

The 73mm MAF is calibrated by the manufacturer. When you use 80mm Lincoln MAF or others, you change the programming in the engine computer by LPM or Tweecer so the computer understands the amount (mass) of air going into the engine. The 80mm MAF has a different output for a given amount of air vs. the stock MAF.

I see. The thing is I'm getting the maf at a steal. My buddy is upgrading his Tb and it's a direct bolt on to mine. So I was hoping it would help until I can get the best.

unless you have a good amount of mods, a stock MAF is the best.

i got i 76 massair with a 93 cobra senser in 2 of my cars with no problem and a noticable difference i also tried a cobra senser on a 55mm and it to was noticable but when a tried a 76 mm with a stock senser i did not notice any thing

Would a C&L 73mm Maf be better, worse, or the same? My buddy just got the 73 and he might want to trade.

Try a search on the 73. And you will learn how bad it is for 99% of cars.

Seems each car runs differently with a 73 c&l. I put one on my car and it would hardly run right, but my brother's 93 ran perfectly with it???????

i have several diffrent mass air sensers from diff cars , will they need to be recalabrated befoe they will work right, one from 92 sc thunderbird , lighting pickup, and lincoln mark with high output 5.0

use that sc body and go by a 93 stock cobra senser and try that you should see some power ,sofar on all the cars iv tried it on has worked well

All of the MAF sensors you have listed will require a PCM recalibration.

I put in my buddies C&L 73mm in, and it made quite a bit of differnce(Too bad he took it back and put it in his stang). The 76mm is on it's way I couldn't pass up the deal even if I'm just going to turn around a sell it. If I put it in what's the worst that could happen?

Engine run too lean and start making very small holes in the top of the piston when its pinging.
