i can get this- its obviously used but let me know if its a good deal please

For sale, two JL 12W0 12" subs
(http://www.jlaudio.com/subwoofers/12w0.html) in a
sealed black MDF box. Attached is an
MTX 275x amp (earlier version of
http://www.mtxaudio.com/caraudio/archive/pro75x2.cfm)
that can power them pretty well. The box has some
cosmetic damage near the edge of one side.

Asking $100 for everything, but make me an offer for
what you think it's worth.

i offered 60 and he seemed interested is this idea :thumb: or :bonk: ?

For $60 I'd go for it. It won't have awesome bass but, it will offer some decent punch.

Is the box sealed or ported?

EDIT: See my later post...

sealed.. what do you mean by not awesome bass, i think the stock is just OK and i'd want to get noticeably better if i got aftermarket stuff, but then again, it is cheap.. what's the worst part of that setup, the subs, or the amp?

I would

watch for sellers of stuff, amps are usuallly blown, just use your judgement, I always try to buy new with audio equipment, there is a warranty that way ;)

Those are both high quality pieces, For 60 bucks, you can't go wrong, If everything works, you just got a great deal, If it doesn't , you didn't get screwed out of too much money. JL is top quality, and MTX amps are generally renowned as quality pieces. Test the subs by hooking them up to any stereo and listening to them. Also check to see if their voice coils are damaged by pushing on the cones, if you hear scratching or feel friction from the voice coil, they're blown, don't go for it. With the amp, just hook it up to a battery, and then test both channels with a discman and any speaker to make sure both channels work. But like I said, 60 bucks is nothing, and that will give you a noticable improvement over the stock system.

What my point was is for $60 it sounds pretty good, but it isn't going to punch hard.

Basically, what are you looking for? Quality Sound, Punch, Noise, or a Massage?

If you are looking to add some more lows for sound, this would be an economical way to go. JL is a good brand, and they make quality parts.

I retract my statement about blowing your speakers... I misread the JL site, it is rated 125W continuous. That's good for the MTX amp.

I'd say "Go for it!" Can't loose for $60.

I wouldn't really call the W0 quality but ok. For 60 dollars id probably buy just the subs. For an Entry level setup its not to shabby. I think im gonna buy a W7 in a few weeks. Not quite sure yet though

Well, in comparison to say...sony, or crunch, or pyle...they're reputable and seriously...60 bucks? that is dirt for a full set-up of decent quality stuff. I say it is a no-brainer.

I agree, JL is good and the MTX amp will provide enough, especially if it's bridgeable, I myself have 3 JL-W6's w/ only 1 MTX Thunderstroke 75x2 in my trunk and it's more than enough BASSSSSSSSS for me!!!, the speakers alone are worth $60, if you dont buy it **** let me know!!!!
