I guess it would be the 120k or 180k now, the odometer says just over 207 000KM. Anyways Me and my dad are probably going to do it our self’s since the dealer wants 300 for this, 1000 for that and o'yah another 500 for each of these. :madflame: No way are we paying for that so we figure it shouldn't be that hard. What we want to know is what special tools do we need? I have looked at shophoenixproject.com and look at the tool list, but my dad wants to know how we release the pressure off the fuel line or if we have to. And for those in the Edmonton area where is the best place to get the parts for a good price. Thanks. :thumb:

PS. I also read the info on the other thread I posted. Linky.

The "un-official and be extra careful" method of relieving fuel pressure:

Open the gas cap.
Remove the cap for the fuel pressure check valve. (Top middle of the intake, looks like a tire valve)
Get a rag and place around and over the valve, take a small screwdriver and press in the center (like you're letting the air out of a car tire.)
Make sure the engine isn't too hot and that no one is smoking, barbecuing, etc... nearby. Don't just throw the rag in the regular garbage, it's going to be super flammable.

You really shouldn't have to do this, I don't think, for a 60k. You're not messing with anything to do with fuel unless you are messing with the fuel injectors or fuel lines. The lines aren't really in the way.

Oh- but while you're at it, you might as well change the fuel filter if you haven't in a year. Otherwise Ford fuel pumps are failure-prone. It's under the car, behind the rear right wheel. If you just have the car on jackstands, take off the wheel to get to it easier. Remove it from the idiot holder, take clips off, put new filter in, replace clips, put it back.

Even if you drain the pressure you'll still have a lot of fuel leak out, have a drip pan ready. Do it last, after all your other work. That way the gas cleans the oil off your hands....

Jeff, I'm getting mine done locally here by a guy who owns a shop and a handfull of SHO's. He knows his stuff. I'm going to order a bunch of stuff this week and hopefully get around to it by early next month. If your interested give me a shout and I'll pass a long his number. He is also very resonable for price.
