View attachment 15808 This stuff, did a ton of reading so far this week. Seems to be split decision on if it works or not, thought I'd try for myself!

Unless it's cold out. The intake will eventually get hot and probably hold heat in. Hope for the best though.
They need to make air conditioning wrap to hook into the ac and wrap.
CryO2 intake systems makes cold wrap.

There's an intake piece I'd like to try by DEI, that has co2 running threw a ball inside the flow track.

I seen that one and with TT setup it shouldn't hurt flow. Coupled with a good intercooler and maybe water meth that comes on at 8psi or so should make the intake air real cold that the motor will get brain freeze

Waiting for the next delivery to finish up the rest

Funny, I'm in the process of doing the same thing, with an added twist. I just saw your post and thought...damn..great minds think alike...or maybe we are both fools who fell for the snake oil, LOL...if nothing else, it looks really cool, haha

Just a small sample of how I'm tackling the problem...figured insulation would greatly help this out...

Basically extending what I had done to the coolant pipe under the IM to the intake system:

I’m interested to see the results. You mentioned this to me a few weeks ago. I see it used a lot I would hope it offers some benefit. I’d like to think it’s better than no wrap at all.

I did go for a quick drive last night just to check it out, I didnt log or anything yet. I was just montioring with the handheld and it seemed to keep the temps at bay for awhile. When I got home I popped the hood and just did a check by feel, the none covered aluminum was noticeably hotter than the wrapped pipe not 6 inches away. Even the wrapped plastic portion seemed cooler than the unwrapped aluminum. It definitely does something, just don't have exact numbers for you guys.

So what I've noticed so far today is that my idle temp appears to be about 20 degrees lower at ldle while heat soaking (98 down from 120). Once the car gets moving and into boost it seems like the IAT2 temps seem to take a little longer to rise then cap out about about 10-12 degrees lower than than before I wrapped the intake tubes. So does it work, yes. Is it worth $50-100 to wrap all the piping to get the temp down a little, in my option yes. The first section I posted the picture of was about $24 worth of wrap and I still haven't completed wrapping everything yet and still got a decent return. I'm sure there are variables like humidity, outside temp and the fact that I also have the vented hood that may play a role in the results that I got, but I'd still think it was worth the cost!

Looks nice! damn you beat me to the punch! LOL...

Anyway, keep us updated on datalogs, I'm still a ways away from finishing mine...too many damn projects LOL!

If it helps I used up about 30ft all total, went all the way back as far as I could to just before the rear turbo for both pipes, and did all the piping up to where it merges to go into the bumper/fender area.
