Hi all,
There are a number of us heading out to Gingerman over memorial day weekend. We were planning on grilling out etc and I wanted to get a count of how many people were going to show up. It is a driving event, but even if you are not planning on driving come on out for some good food and socializing. Post here if you are planning on coming out. Thanks

I guess I should post in this thread. I'm coming, and possibly my socially awkward dad.

I'm bringing my camping grill, what food do I bring? Is the pig roast at noon or night?

I talked with Platoribs. He said he has access to a good meat selection. He may bring it all that stuff and then we split the bill. Then we can bring sides/chips etc. We are trying to gauge how many people to see how extravagant we need to go.

I figure it this way, if I get all ambitious I'll make something in advance for Friday night but don't expect much or too early, (3.5 hours drive time after work Friday), maybe burn some fresh gourmet sausages or a gumbo er sump'n...
Saturday morning: coffee and breakfast bars (tech rush, maybe get tech started Friday nite?),
lunch: sammichs,
dinner: smoked chicken and sides (and hog if there's enough to go around).

Sunday morning: eggs & B&G's & coffee,
lunch: sammichs,
dinner: on the road home!

I'll bring my trailer cause I want to try out a few different tire combinations. I'll also bring my Weber grill.

I will gladly take responsibility for the chicken, sausage, eggs, B&G's and the hardware to convert it to eatable stuff. I’ll save the receipt and we can divvy it up accordingly.

We'll need lots of water, charcoal, cleaning tank, kitchenware, and sides. I can round it all up or we can divide and conquer. LMK what y’all want to do and we’ll get it sorted out.

Thanks,
Chris

So lets get a good count and I'll provision up next week.

sides, utensils, plates, napkins we can pick up at the wallymart down the rd.

I will be bringing 2 coolers. 1 for beverages and 1 for foods. Most likely some hard boiled eggs for sat morning. If enough interest I can hard boil a dozen eggs. I will also grab 48 bottles of water.

I might also have a bag or charcoal sitting around, I will let you know by tomorrow night. I have gas grills at home but swear there is a fresh bag of charcoal in the garage attic.

I will be in on Friday, not sure on exact time. I get out of work at 1, but will probably leave town at 3:30 or so if the wife gets out of work early enough. If there is enough light, I can start tech on friday for the SHO crew.

put me down for:

dozen hardboiled eggs
2 coolers
48 bottles water
charcoal

Ok, my dad is no longer coming, but a friend of mine is.

It sounds like we are on our own for lunch, right?

I'll bring money to pay my share of the other food.

Anything else?

Lunch has been pizza the last 2 times I have been there. It was pretty good....but if you are picky I would suggest bringing your own since you are the their mercy for food choice..

I really don't care about the money so much, I just don't want to prep a bunch of food and end up hauling it home or throwing it out.

Looking forward to a fun weekend:sun:

Thought I would chime in and say I am not going to make it. Me and the wifey are going to a friend's wedding up in western NY this weekend.

It would be nice to connect again... :)

Don't worry, if you make it, I will eat it! I'm looking forward to it too! I just hope I don't forget anything!

Is anyone going to need a tent to sleep in? I have an extra one that I will not be using, but could bring if needed.

We have our sleep tent, and this year I'm bringing a 2nd pup tent for my junk. Somewhere to keep my tools, jack, stands, etc.

Now that's an idea!

Yep, got back this past Saturday. Not liking having to get back into the swing of life, it was vacation that actually felt like vacation.

Good to hear Mike. It's always nice to have time off that you don't have to worry about anything. And you get to spend it with your new favorite person! :)
