Most of that makes sense.

Passenger airbags were still an option in 93. Mine doesn't have the hole in the dash either. ;)

Well, I know for a fact that the clocks were different between 92 and 93-95 and they weren't interchangeable, which means the dash bezels aren't the same. And according to these pictures:

1992:
29552020017 large

1993:
9405010043 large

The angles aren't quite right, but you can see that the steering wheels are different on the 92 and 93, which means the air bags are different. that's my point. 93-95 are identical as far as the interior goes.

And, FWIW, I have a 95 ATX and used to own a 94 ATX. I never once found any wiring differences in the interior. My '94 EVTM worked perfectly for the 95.

Forgot about that one.

They are not. Somewhere between 93 and 95 there was some change in the B-pillar area. Don't remember exactly what, but I remember having an issue when I did a black interior swap into a 95 from a 93.

Also, the console sides of 95 seat bottoms were cloth instead of vinyl.

I love useless SHO trivia. :p

lol agreed on the trivia... IIRC, from talking with people all over this forum who "knew" what was up I think the conclusion was that the 93 was its own animal really. The 92's albeit looked more like a 93-95, most of the wiring was still 1989. Minus the "antenna" buttons, and had the other clock. (Forgot about that.. good catch.) The harness numbers are even different ending in "92" and "93" Which makes me wonder if there is a ....94 AND a ....95, or just a 94, because I'm pretty sure 94-95's identical.

.... I spent all those hours looking at those damn diagrams less than a year ago, because I was determined to have a functioning check engine light, and didn't want to "trick" anything... and now I can't remember a lot of that stuff... I must be getting old... :)

The B-pillars are different between 92 and 95, I cannot remember which is which, but the mount for the upper seat belt anchor is about an inch to an inch and a half lower one one than it is on the other, I believe that the 92, the anchor is higher up in the body, compared to the 95, as when I did the SHO swap over from the 92 SHO, to the 95 SLO, I had to paint the 2 upper B-pillar mouldings to match.

I did. Ever figure out the answer to that question?

Didn't you say heater core at the top of the thread? lol

So if I just grease the blend door actuator/maybe a new blower motor, and get a new heater core I should be good. It would be pretty crappy to have to remove that dash again soon after the swap to replace those parts, if I had decided to not go through with replacing those parts.

Thanks guys for all of the input, with all that's been said tho my 94 dash harness is getting used. When the interior got removed, the wires were chopped at the firewall. I plan to reuse my 94 wiring harness in the dash, as much as possible anyway. If I have to splice something, then so be it, not worried too much about that. I was just more concerned about the safety items working right, in this case the airbags.

There are 2 wires man... splice them... stop worrying so much.. its an open contact, when the bags go off.. its closed.. it will not ever matter. A resistor dosent care which direction its in... a motor might spin backwards, if it was wired backwards, but the bag won't deflate if you wire it backwards.. :)

I swear I've told you this stuff before.. :) And go look at the heater core assembly I just left up there at your garage, there really isn't any where to grease that would be worth while... that grease will just hold more dirt and junk than anything. Just make sure it's cleaned up good inside, and it'll be fine. Swap the core with a new one, and be done with it.

Already settled. What inspired this response?

Same here... splice away... lol :)

I'm just saying now that you have that assembly box up there, take a look at it, and you can get a better idea of what might need to be done... grease would just gum it up...

You said... " So if I just grease the blend door actuator/maybe a new blower motor, and get a new heater core I should be good. "

And I know you can splice, but when you said you were worried about it working correctly, and therefor weren't understanding the circuit maybe?

I dunno... yea my head is all f**ked up right now, it just sounds like your still a little confused.. its just a lotta work to go through only to do it wrong...

I did say that but I haven't worried about it. I will make sure that I have all my ducks in a row when it comes time to do that swap. I wouldn't want to gum up that blend door actuator with a bunch of grease. I will take a look here in couple of days at it. :thumb:

I just know if I had finished my 93, and something with the BDA was wrong, I think I would have just left it in there messed up until the next dash pull, or maybe just left the car sit for a week to punish it for screwin with me... lol

Find a black steering wheel. You'll wear through the dye very quickly from the roughness and oil of your skin. Explorers and Mustangs would be a good place to look since they had black wheels on interiors that weren't just black.

Post pictures when your done. It will look great once its done. I wonder why Ford made so many grey interior SHOs versus the better looking black.

The wheel itself is the same on the SHO and mustang. The airbag and the plastic that buts up against the column are different, but you can swap those parts over.
