If the negative on the woofer and tweeter are on the same circuit there is an easy alternative. You can reuse the existing speaker wires and there is an extra wire in the door harness that is not used on the Taurus. It's a two wire connector for the window button illumination that used on the Sable. One of the wires is connected to the ground circuit in the door harness and the other goes back through the big connector and back to the illumination circuit.

Nice idea there! I just read about that little light, and didn't even think about that... :) What I did notice however is how much room there is right infront of that thing. One little hole in that boot, and this wasn't a problem at all... lol Check it out...

Well, it all works fine, I'll have to get a video of it up here tommorow. I turned it on, it found my home network, my phone, my phone book, addresses, contact lists, pulled the music including ringtones. This is a lot more "Radio" than I'm used to. lol It even scolds you when your speeding.. lol

Still waiting on my 4004 amp to show up so I can finish building my false floor in the trunk and all that. But if anyone wonders... those DB's are nice w/o an amp. :) Very "bright" sounding. Now I gotta figure out what I need to setup my crossovers and all that jazz at. Haven't even bothered to look into that yet. I just know where my sub cuts off, and thats where I set my LP filter on my amp for the sub.. :)

Would setting those up in the HU help out a lot as far as SQ? I'll have to get a video of what options I have. I can set FQ's for bass, mid, and high's. Plus two different bass boosts.. but WTH? I have one of those via the gain on the amp, and the **** that comes with the RF amps. lol Too many choices...

I would try to leave the HU in as normal of a position as possible for tuning to allow you to have in car adjustments and such when driving. Also you have a bit better control when doing it on the sub-amp/amp as it will be a clear change because its doing less things and has less wire to try and travel through creating clearer sound.

I have the frequency ranges at home written down for how you want to set your crossover ranges. I will get it to you later this evening.

Well I also noticed, on the low pass setting on the HU is for the sub only. So i could set a value there, and set a hp on the amp the other way and get a very specific range couldn't I ? Dial it in from both ends sort of thing. I'm still not sure how much of it will transfer over to the component sets, due to the fact they have passive crossovers.

Even tho it would block it and not play it anyways, I think if it was limited at the HU it would just "clean up" the unneeded stuff in the signal. I just realized all the options I have now as far as wiring up those amps.. :) Fun times.

I already have the specific ranges. No need to really "play" with it to find the right settings. I got the settings from a former IASCA Sound Off Champ. His car just sounded absolutely sick. It was 2 12's for the subs in aperiodic membrane setups, and 7" midbasses and 1" tweets in the kick panels, that was it and it imaged and sounded completely amazing. That was where he got the freq ranges from.

Frequency Crossover Ranges

70 Hz and down for the sub
175 Hz to 70 Hz to the 6 x 9's or 8's whatever those are
Then 175 Hz and up to the door speakers and tweeters

This should be a good place to start and tweak from there. :)
