Hey SHO people,

Gonna try to replace my rear passenger motor mount on my 99 sho today. First off pics of the part. Will post updates along the way. I couldn't find a clear how to so here we go. Hope it helps sombody.

Note, small piece of rubber slides out of the gap on the mount. Going to leave it in hoping it can reduce/block movement(tighten it up basically ).

Ya, I agree! I wanted future viewers to not have to hunt to check for resources on this Gen SHO. You are pretty well-versed, most people coming on here initially, not so much :)

Hey thanks man I really appreciate that! Have to admit this forum turned me into a real wrench turner.

It's hard to search on the v8 forum....way better here. Just trying to help some other SHO'S fan out.

Ok guys so decided to fill the gaps in the new mount with polyurethane and make a cheap solid or reinforced mount. So I got the bolt out from the mount in the car, yesss! But because I just replaced the front motor and tranny mount, very little play to work with.

So after looking at it for a while here's the plan. Loosen both rear subframe bolts to max before they let go. Loosen the other two new motor mounts. Oh and make sure the hood is open. I've got it on a lift with a tranny jack under the engine....pump the motor upward, loosen subframe down and please let ther be enough room. Here is the current mount location FYI

It's done!
Youtube link. The above method did allow for removal and installation of the mount.

FYI: I know... spoiled.... my buddy has a lift and tranny jack. He owes me some favors, he offered...didn't need to twist my arm.

This can be done with ramps, jack stands, and a jack(bottle or other type)

Though it's HIGHLY recommend one use some sort of impact wrench...electric or air. When one tries to remove the tierod ends the nut will just spin if u try by hand. The impacting action allows for easy removal. Also get some new cotter pins for the tie rod ends. Mine broke.

And be cautious when ordering parts, the first motor mount I got was from rock auto (usually love these people, still do ). It was labeled for a 99 sho but it was wrong ....to wide would not seat in the subframe . Got the right one in the end.

And yes I probly should not have jacked the motor up under the oil pan.....pressure can blow the gasket out, damage the pan itself.....but it was the best I could do in my situation working alone.

Have a good weekend everyone. Cars and coffee Bethlehem PA coming right up.
