I am just curious about who has a stock or modified TC. If it is a mod, where did you get it, how much was it, and when did you have it done... Have you had any additional problems out of the mod TC, i.e. shudder, vanes coming apart...

I am getting ready to pull my engine/trans so I can swap the TC and replace a leaking seal at the input, along with the cam welding. I have searched and the few places mentioned didn't seem correct. Is $157.50 for a HIGH STALL converter a bit low for these cars? Not that I am complaining mind you, I just don't want to get the unit and realize it is for a 3.0L V6...

I am not looking to get a HIGH STALL converter, but a better version of the stock unit... A High stall would be nice, but not really needed...

Thanks all!!

Sounds like you've been looking at bulkpart.com.

I doubt that the "high stall" convertor is any higher than stock. It probably is just a rebuilt aftermarket convertor. I haven't been there yet... knock on wood.

I got mine through Bulkparts but they were just a broker. I had to ship my core to Makko in Kentucky. Also cost a bit more than the $157. But things may have changed since then. Be sure to ask them.

I've had no problems with mine through three years of abuse and am quite happy with it.
