Gen 4 brakes compatible with Gen 3 SHO?

I read somewhere that someone took Gen 4 brake setup and retrofitted them (I am assuming front only?) on to Gen 3 chassis?

Does anyone know if this is a direct bolt on, and will stock Gen 3 wheels fit?

I have heard of other brake upgrades to Gen 3, but was told that when this was done, the stock wheels would no longer fit the upgraded discs.

I would like to upgrade brake performance, but am not yet ready to get a whole set of 17" wheels and tires.

Yes, if by Gen 4 you mean the 2000-2007 cars. All Tauri and Sable went to the larger 11.6 inch front brake rotor sometime around 2001, so later cars would be your best bet.
