Hey All,

I have searched the forum for a few days about this but I can't seem to find my answer. I remember reading on shotimes that you can use the gen 3 IAC/IAB on the gen 1/2 models. Is this true? If it is, does anyone have a part number?
I think I need to replace mine, and I wanted to get a new ford part.

Thanks,
Mike

I think the 93-95s ATXs and the Gen3 IACs are the same. I had a IAC from a 90 on mine, and it seemed to work for a while, but I don't know if it could go the other way around.

Don't know as I haven't tried it, but since most IAC's are the same I'd say probably as long as the electrical connection is the same (gen 3 is at a 90 degree angle from gen 1 & 2).

What I do know is that an MTX IAC will work fine on an ATX, they can just be a little tough to install as the lower screw is a PITA.

Well it looks like the connector is actually completely different, it does still take 2 wires however. I am wondering if I should try to get that connector and adapt it to my harness, does anyone know if they function differently electrically? Like, take different voltages etc...? I guess I could return this one, but the dude on shotimes.com said he used a 96.
