I dont believe a FG/CF trunk has been made for the gen1, only gen2 IIRC.

Yup just the Gen 2. I was talking to ShoSource if we got 10 or so guys together we could get them made.

I am interested.

Is there a way to adjust the trunk lid torsion bars to compensate for the weight difference?

Want it lighter? cut the braces out.

Adjusting the rods will still throw it up too hard. Fab work needed, make a strut to replace them.

The trunk rods have 3 locations where they anchor to the body (the part looks like the profile of a gun rack).
Depending on where yours are anchored now, you may be able to lighten up the torsion on those rods.
You have to lay right in the trunk to do it and you have to be real careful with what you put on the ends of the torsion rods (like a shot piece of small diameter pipe) that you use to move the rod end to the next spot in the gun rack thing.
