is anyone else that has received the gen 1 apillar gauge pod haveing fitment issues. i just finished cutting the old apillar off and whent to install the new one and i must say, it fitts like ass... fitts ok on the windsheild side, but not on the door side. also, it doesn't really cover the bottom too well. i cut exactly were the instructions said. even checked with the pics posted, they are the same. also, it doesn't curve around the door molding like the oem one did. has the extra meterial to do it (way overhangs the pillar on that side) but doesn't curve. you can see straight through to the back of the gauges. did i get a bum unit here or what??

I did not cut my pillar trim, just install over the exisiting trim. It seem to fit rather well like that so I left it that way.

Mine just popped right in shrug . The edge that is next to the door is not going to be perfect because of the design of the pod, but other than that it fits nice and snug on my car. I take some pics for you, maybe yours is warped.

ok, after i calmed down i went out and fixed some of the wireing problems and put the apillar that i cut out back in and then re-installed the pod over it. it does fit alot better that way. i still don't like the edge were the door is though i'm gonna get a heat gun and try bending the plastic around the edge to make it look more like it fitts. it's funny though, the directions show to cut out the old a-pillar and if you do. the pod just won't fit at all... shrug

Yea, I was just about to mark mine for trimming and for grins I just stuck it up there. It popped in and looked nice. I took a look a the edge an noticed that the new piece did not have a lip that rolled around the edge. IMO it could never fit properly without the full A piller trim there. I think I am going to try to do somthing about the little gap also. There are a few spots at the top edge and the bottom edge that could to stand to be trimmed a bit.
