Just got my new 1990 Taurus SHO!!!! Finally YAY! But anyway, so the radio isn't working. I turn it on, and all I hear is so crackling out of the speakers, the time, and radio frequency display, but none of the buttons seem to work, and no volume other than that of the crackle. Any ideas? Also, how do I pop this puppy out and take a look at it, it has the holes around the sides i'm gussing small phillips? Thanks in advance guys.. SOO STOKED :)

Another Question:
If I get a '93 stereo unit will it plug right in? And is there already wiring in the back for the 8 disc '93 cd player as well?

the same thing happened to me in my 90', it happened to be something with the volume button, so i just pulled the headunit and installed a CD unit. you can use a coat hanger shaped like a U to pull the head out, or buy the tools at wal-mart or a stereo store, i paid about $3 at walmart, works nicer than a hanger.

The holes in the side of the radio are not screw holes, they are actually spring-type retention clips. The tools or coat hanger push in on the clips and allow you to remove the stereo.
