So the day has FINALLY come and I recieved my email stating GH has intercoolers available to ship. However, how much of a difference will the IC make? Is it worth it? Was going to do cam package and headers on my Camaro till I got the email but now I'm not sure which to do.

100% worth it. The stock IC is undersized and not very effective. This makes a huge difference when tuned for it.

I would make this the 3rd upgrade after a tune and 3bar...

2010 SS, wanting to get it to about 600. It is an auto so my wife can drive it so it does have the AFM which there is a kit that has the AFM delete and Stage 2 BTR cam package for about $1500

The L99 is a good engine and it wakes up with mods. I would get with Brian and see how the stage 2 cam works with the stock stall converter. If they don't clash too much then yeah. If they do, I would hold off the cam and do gears and headers instead.

My guy that has done my work on the SHO said the stock stall will be fine as long as I don't go more than the stage 2. He's done numerous LS builds and is the GO-2 on them in my area.

Then it depends. Do you want something fun everyday, or just once in awhile? My FBO E30 SHO just nipped a 5th Gen big cam FBO LS3 car on a drag radial this past weekend in Mexico. I know his car goes 11.80 at the track....

The Camaro could be fun, but the IC will make the SHO more efficient.

Well my SHO has about every bolt on except upgraded turbos, IC, HPFP so it's a pretty fun daily. Don't enjoy driving the Camaro as much since it's not near where my SHO is. But, reliability on the SHO is most important.

I don't have turbos either, however I have zero concerns with reliability with the SHO if I were to place her back into daily duty if it was warranted. I where you, I would go IC for the SHO and get gears in the Camaro.

Can always get a cam and headers for a camaro, but can't always get an item that is in and out of stock. However, given colder climate is upon us I can see waiting on the intercooler as well.

That was my thought last fall. And here we are approaching this fall and I blew the whole summer track season not being able to get the IC.

I've had a selection of Mustang GT's and two Cobras. Gears and a tune really woke up the GT's, while not breaking the bank. It's getting colder here in northern Ohio. and the SHO feels like a different car then it did in Florida. The IC is most noticeable now and worth every penny. Get a catch-can if you don't have one already.
IC and catch-can for the SHO
Gears and a tune for the Camaro.. MHO

What's your budget? Intercooler is only 800.

Headers is 800, cam and lifters is 200, and don't forget the gaskets. Probably another 100 easy in gaskets. And are you doing your own work?

For the camaro, if it we me, I'd go super charger.

As a former ls owner I say headers/cam would be my pick. I’d do a small converter at some point as well. I daily drove a 4000 rpm converter and it was not all that noticeable after a while. Made it a blast at wot though
