Unfortunalty it looks that way. The problem with starting up a mold and what not for a taurus crowd just isn't profitable enough. Idealy we would need to take 1 gen, either 1 or 2 ... not both .... and make a run of them. The problem also lies in the fact that people say they want them, but when its time to cough up the dough they backout, which hurts the GB even further.

I know there are a lot more people in the world that would like to see this mod, but the number of people willing to cough up the money for a "regular taurus" is negligable. Even if the company did agree to make them, we would have to 100% ASSURE them that everyone who said they will buy one will. AND NOONE I know of can do that. Another issue is that wewould need to get the word out to every ford forum out there, and even that brings us back to the money issue.

Unfortunatly folks, its looking like we will once again have to turn to home depot engineering to get something done. What about cutting open the lenses of a Lexus SUV?? just and Idea.

I'm not bashing the idea, as with the proper design it would look good..
I hate to de-sticky this thread ... :frown:

We were shooting for the GenII as there was more interest for that model.

[rant]

What really ****** me off is that they can make them for the GenIV which hardly any young, car enthusiast type people own, but they can't make them for the GenII SHO which is a car made for enthusiasts. Not to mention that they would also fit the GenII SLO which alot of young people own due to affordability.

FOKKERS!!!!

Hey, newbie to the list, just catching up. I'd buy a clear set for my white Gen II in a second. And if asked, I would guess that the mold costs would be for the whole group of 100, not on a per-color basis.

Plus, this is just the Forum, other groups online I'm sure would increase the headcount for the GB too.

I think clear ones only look halfway decent on white cars. I really dislike them on any other car than white vehicles. :thumb:

Love the CF idea for my Gen II - But would rather fix those two kinda lit things on the front, they remind me of headlights, only you can't see anything. The thought of a nice set of clear projector HID lights up fronty is very appealling...
