well I would hope there's gas spraying into the engine:nut:

So is this an actuall leak? Perhaps where the fuel lines lead to the rails? Did you smell gas before you got your oil changed? Or did you mechanic just drip oil onto the exhaust, and then smell gas fumes from say...a bad charcoal canister and decide to try and rip you off.

This sounds sort of shady...and I personally wouldn't give that mechanic a dime.

ok i went to the guy today...the problem is an o ring in the fuel pump.....he said it will cost about 300 bucks...so my next question is how hard is it to take apart the fuel pump and change out the o ring? and it is actually dripping out of the engine

The fuel pump is at the rear of the car in the fuel tank. I don't see how it could "spray" into/onto the engine.

You normally have to drop the fuel tank to replace the pump, although some folks have discovered you can remove the rear seat and cut a carefully measured hole through the floorpan instead.

$300 labor is a rip off to replace a fuel pump.

I think that procedure abotu removing the back seat and cutting a hole is more work then dropping the tank from underneath the car. Honestly, withotu ever doing it before, you can drop the tank from under the car in about 30 minutes, and that includes jacking up the car and placing the jack stands.

its sooo easy, even for beginners.

Plus do you really want another hold cut in a structural part of teh floor pan? This woudl eventually rust etc if you cut a hole under the deat, not to mention the mold that can develeop when water gets up in there.

Wow, you need to find a mechanic that doesn't need to make a boat payment. Hook an air chuck to the schrader valve on the fuel rail and put 35 psi (no more than 35 psi) of air to the system and look for the leak. After you find the leak, and it will be obvious, get the part yourself and then ask on here how to go about fixing it. We'll talk you through it. Good luck.

Thats good!

Thats not too hard at all, Atleast I dont think so.

Go to your local parts store and buy injector O ring seals, Then we can tell you how to fix it.

Is it leaking where the injector goes into the heads or where the injector is attached to the fuel rails?
