gas gauge stuck on F

My gas gauge is stuck on full all the time. It used to start working if you hit a bump or would sometimes give different readings. It has been like this for a while but it's getting on my nerves so I going work on it this weekend. My guess it's just a stuck float. tool

Mine always registers max full for 5-10 minutes, then usually settles down to the correct level.

Might be a bad sender also. Am not interested in droppig the fuel tank just to satisfy my curiosity.
