So Next week im thinkin about rippin my dashboard out to fix that notorious blend door actuator... anywords of encouragement? :oogle:

yeah its sorta common... the blend door actuator freezes up and either sticks on full cold or full hot.. and in my case full hot lol... and thats not too fun in summer lol

oooo not good. the heater core blew on my silver '93 and I was just like, f it. Too much work for a not so amazing car.

Yea, be careful. Take pictures of wiring and etc... There is a thread posted my bizzy on removing a dash.

hmm this makes me wonder...

my SHO doesnt blow hot air even when the car warms up, although it never really warmed up that much... hopefully its just the thermostat that i just replaced.... but i never know

Seem to remember doing one of these and it wasn't that bad, but I could be thinking of the wrong thing. IDK been to long...:nut:

I know a fast way to rekmove a dash I did it on my 94, course it was a parts car...:laugh_ti:

You would be crazy not to! its a pretty cheap part at www.rockauto.com . Just think...you fix the Blend Door actuator and then 3 months later you get the ol' famous coolant smell, I'd drive my car off a cliff if that would happen to me, :nut:

haha yeah that would be pretty crappy if that where to happen...oh man worse if i bought those parts new and suddenly they just crapped out... hmm is there anything else i should think about rippin out while im in there..?

Yeah, I would do the heater core brandon. That would suck to have to do it all over again! What is it, like $60. BTW everyone who can, go to hwy tonight! I'm going to break in the clutch and we'll see if the giggling Regal is there!

lol.. i dunno.. i just read the thing about takin your dashboard apart... i think im losin' my will to do it. because theres just sooo much to take apart

its mostly connections though... id do it if i were you... its not that expensive, just time consuming, pick a weekend or a week if you can afford that much time and just work a little here and a little there

Yeah, pulling the dash isn't alot of fun. I did one on my old 89 SHO 2 years ago. I didn;t pull the dash all the way out though, replaced the blend door and heater core in 3.5 hours and never did one before.

Yes my hands were bloddy after.

basically it saves you alot of time not havign to unplug everythign ont eh drivers side. All the moutnign screws still need to come out of the dash, but you can leave it in the car and just "hinge it on the drivers side to access everythign from the pass side..

Hmm. i guess ill have to give that a try..
