Fuel pump relay is part of the CCRM module located under the radiator sight shield. Bad CCRM, bad pump, bad pressure regulator, or an obstructed filter can call cause fuel supply problems.

There is also the outside chance it is the rollover switch in the trunk but this would need to be reset if it was triggered.

To manually force the fuel pump on for testing purposes, at the data connector where you read the codes and holding it so the short side is up and the long side is down ground the right most connector. This will ground the fuel pump relay coil and as long as the key is in the run position there should be battery voltage going to the fuel pump.

The input wire for the fuel pump relay coil is the violet wire and should be hot in run. The pink and black wire is the switched battery voltage going to the fuel pump from the fuel pump relay.

OK first what is CCRM? The fuel pump works fine weather the car dies or not and the fuel pump cut off switch is fine. This happens after running the car for a while and I'm not real sure it if in the fuel system but the last time it died I had no fuel pressure at the relief valve on the rail.I dont think filter cause it wouldnt make it die then run agian.I have checked codes and nothing related to the fuel system.

Patience is a virtue. So is using the forum's search function. In order to introduce you to that feature, I'll let you try searching for CCRM and see what you can find! :D (You might also find a lot of info on diagnosing fuel supply problems!)

I had this exact problem. The relay device under the radiator shield is also called an IRCM (for my '89 anyways).

I thought my fuel pump was bad, but it was the IRCM. Once I replaced it, I could start the car and was on my way.

Do a search with my name and IRCM and you will find out what I discovered about this little beast.

Good luck.

:salute:
