I have a 2012 sho and this thing is driving me crazy.. When you get down to a 1/4 tank the fuel guage will drop and the warning light comes on telling you that you have less than 5 miles to empty...The dealership has put new sending units in it but it still goes goofy.
Has anyone else ever had this happen, if so what did they do to fix it or are you just like me. Hopeing that you have gas in the tank...
Any help on this would be great thanks in advance....Rich

Has to be the stepper motor that powers this gauge on your dash.

This happened to my GMC Denali several years ago, but it was my Speedometer.
Every gauge has a stepper motor that activates the needle. In the Denali's case there were 7 of them. The solution in my case was a new dash module. I lucked out and had it replaced free, even though vehicle was out of warranty as GM issued a recall just after it happened to me.

Certainly the dealer has seen this in other vehicles. If they would simply contact Ford, Ford would know what the issue is. Dealer is just being lazy... or incompetent.

Ford claims that this is a first for them. The dealer wants me to give them the car with low fuel and then they will hook up something and drive the car for the next 100 miles to see what it does. I will have to go with them as I won't be giving them my car for them to go driving for the afternoon...
How about it are there any Ford people around here that can add some light to this mess?? I would love to hear from someone, even if you P.M. me with your help or idea's anything would be great...thanks again....Rich

I think this must be a "beer" or "dairy" issue... with you being from Wisconsin...LOL

Seriously, my EB Flex has been virtually trouble free, except for my input.

Looks to me that Dealer has a good idea.

Still working on this mess. We tried bud light in the gas tank, but that also gave the same reading issues that the miller did....lol
No we have to bring the car in with 110 miles to empty and leave it for them to drive and see if it goes bad. The first time they claim it worked just fine, so the next time I will be going for a ride with them. The best part is when it does go bad every time so far it would only take 13 gal 's of gas so it is not out, but it still is not correct either....Rich
