I was riding in my friends '00 Mountineer and he has a pretty nice fuel computer, with mpg, miles til empty, etc. Since the Gen 1's with digital dashes had something simliar, would it be possible to make one of these work in a SHO? And I guess I need to know if the Gen 2's have the fuel mileage and stuff built into it?

Also, the moonroof switch in his mountineer has automatic opening, and a better stop when you close it. It doesn't just vent up, there is an actual stop. If I were to use a switch from a vehicle like this, would it give me the auto open? And is the stop something thats part of the motor?

I have one of those units sitting on my desk. They seem to work the same way as the digital dashes do so I would say that, yes you could make it work in an SHO. I need to hook mine up and see what it does though. The units are quiet large though, mounting it would take a bit of fabrication. I would put it in the same spot I have my Probe EQ at.

Thats what I was thinking, and fabricating something to work for the switches in the ashtray cover, possibly making it still open. How would this be wired up? Would wires have to be spliced, or is there someway to plug right into the dash?

YOu would have to splice it into the dash wiring. It has other functions also, like the lamp monitor, door ajar, low fuel, etc. so if you wanted those things to work you would have to wire those in. Lincoln Mark VIIIs also have a similar unit. I know the Mark VIII unit also has a compass feature in it that requires a compass module. It's not a complex a wiring job as a digital dash but the fabrication to get it to fit makes up for that. It's doable though, if I had more time I would work on the bezel a bit myself but I have other projects I'm working on right now wink
