I blasted both front sub-frame bolts over a two day period with PB while getting ready for my new Al SFB. Apparently I would have needed some new super lubricant cuz....

The passenger side is creaking like crazy after finally getting it loose with my 1/2 breaker bar and I've decided to leave that one alone for now. My y-pipe install showed those symptoms which resulted in a broken bolt there too.

Well the front driver side bolt broke just above the top bushing and of course the bottom bushing just dropped out as well as the subframe. madflame

I did a search but didn't find a complete answer;
Specifically, what method should I use to get it out.

I may not have the means to fix this now and wondered if I can drive it slowly to a shop?

madflame It's killing me that every time a put a wrench on this car a bolt breaks! headbang

Josh's clutch video addresses this problem and indicated that you should be able to fish the broken bolt out of an access hole behind the horn. You will need to remove the horn in order to gain access.

Re-grooved? Not sure what you are indicating. Sounds like you need a recall kit to replace the bolts and nuts.

I wouldn't advise driving with 3 of the 4 bolts installed. I do have some personal experience with this issue.... frown

Okay I posted before I looked at the situation entirely...due in part to my yelling obscenities in the garage! :mad:

Whats left of bolt (above inner subframe), and the nut are secure in the subframe, but I cannot get the nut up and out of the way for the recall nut (rectangle piece) to go in.. by the way I have one recall kit.

I fear the front cover is gonna come off... I can get my fingers in the access hole near the horn, but even if the horn was gone that 3x3 hole isn't large enough. I've tried pressing it up and over with a large screwdriver but it won't move forward or back and only up a smidge. Is there too much bolt after the nut and it's hitting the top of the inner subframe? What should I be doing differently?

I also fear the passenger front will either snap or end up spinning, but haven't returned to that one yet.

How hard to pull the front cover? I've pulled the back one (again, frame bolt removal from hitch,spinning in frame) and it wasn't that much fun. What is involved besided removing the 4 smaller bolts from the frame, each side, and maybe a couple of other support bolts?

Thanks for any assistance!
