I installed a new window regulator for the front right several years ago.
The window did not go down all the way; about two inches of the window would show.
I could not see anything that was blocking the regulator so I just lived with it.
Lately, the window is bowing outward as it gets to the close position, and pops out of the vertical track.
The problem is getting worse, so I though about buying a new regulator.
But the problem seems to be caused by this:
Just as the window is about to enter the channel, it hits the inner most channel wall on the downward sloping channel (right after the rubber tab) which pushes the window outward causing it to pop out of the vertical channel.
This could only be caused by, a warping of the door window frame or a warping of the window either of which could have occurrerd over time. The most likely culprit would be the door window frame warping because of the unibody construction.
How can I prevent the window from hitting the inner track of the downward sloping channel and causing it to bow outward?
I pushed the rubber tab downward as much as possible to try to keep the window from bowing outward as it closes, but the window hits the inside channel wall first and this doesn't help.
I adjusted the fabric pad that pushes against the window, not to touch the window at all so it doesn't contribute to the window bowing outward.
lastly,
Does anyone know the part number for the front right window regulator for an '89?
