Im not sure where to look first.
While the car is in the air(on jacks) i can wiggle the wheels back and forth alittle.
My first thought was strut mounts, as i could see the whole strut/spring moving when doing this... but overlooking the fact that the strut is, you know, mounted to the knuckle..... nevermind...
, but the more i think about it, the more it sounds like a wheel bearing(s). Also, tonight, after it finally got below 55* outside, i noticed that i could hear a "rubbing" noise, or a noise that was related to the speed of the car; yet another thing that points to a wheel bearing.
Another thought was the CV shafts....
The reason i thought of the mounts first was because i have a front end clunk that seems to be the strut mounts. I let off the throttle, and hit brakes, it "pops"... I dont think a bearing could make that sound.
Worst case scenario, the bearing is allready f-d, and the knuckle needs to be replaced, right?
TIA.
