Found where the squeak is coming from on my driver's side, was not a strut bearing. It is coming from the knuckle where the rack and pinion hook up to the spindle. (I think I got the parts identified correctly but I am guessing what they are called, not a mechanic and don't have a shop manual for reference).
Now I just need to find out how to seperate these parts and replace or repack with grease or whatever I need to do to eliminate the squeak.
I welcome any suggestions.

Thank you, calling to get prices now. It was cool how I found the squeak. I had the car's front up in the air on jack stands and had my 5 year old son turn the steering wheel for me until I found where the noise was coming from. He felt like a big boy helping me, now I will take him to get some ice cream and go see the Speed Racer movie!!!:woohoo:

Dude, please don't say you went with those tie rods! For parts like that spend the money on the more expensive ones, just for the added safety of you, your family and your wallet. Sometimes those store brands are just a relable of the more expensive but most times not. If you want to try and save money research who makes the parts for them and see if those parts are held to the same standards that the big name companies have for their parts.

I haven't actually bought the parts yet. gathering info on the whole suspension, thinking of upgrading everything in the front, bushings, subframe bushings, tie rod ends and end links.
Here is what I did to remedy the squeak. I made a small incision in the tie rod's rubber boot and sprayed some industrial synthetic grease inside it and then sealed it all back, squeak gone!!! I only did this as a temporary fix of course being that the part is nearly shot anyway, replacements are sure to come soon.

MOOG makes greasable outer tie rod ends. CarQuest sells them.
I would not recommend them. I went through two of them in <20K miles. Went back to the cheaper non-greasable ones and didn't have any more problems.

In fact, I'm no longer a fan of Moog products at all. All the end links I got from them went to s__t in no time as well.
