I recently noticed a clunking noise in my front suspension. I replaced the struts, springs with Tokico/Eibach. Also mounting plates/cups. The sway bar end links were also replaced. Now 4000 miles later it make this noise. I went underneath and nothing seems to be loose. The handling/steering hasn't changed no problems. Could it possibly be a bushing problem? Thanks for any help.

Where does the sound seem to be coming from. I think I need a new cv axle/joint myself. Probably from all that prying around replacing suspension parts on my car. Maybe the same for you as well?

subframe subframe subframe one or more of the bolts need tightening or you need new bushings im not sure on this but it seems that every time you dorp the subframe you need to replace the bushings and bolts. from what i have seen they not too reuseable.

Its probably the strut rod bushings..Ive been having this problem since I bought my 94. When you look under the car from the front (looking right under the fog light) you see a huge bolt with a large rubber bushing screwed into the subframe. If that bolt gets loose or the bushing behind it or the bushing behind the subframe hardens it will leave a small space bewteen the bushing and the subframe. So everytime you hit the brakes hard, the whole control arm assembly is able to move and you have metal on metal grinding against each other causing a "thunk" or "pop". Fixes include a good welding, replacing the bushings, or making sure its tight both behind the subframe and in front of it behind the nut.

Had the same thing with my car. Felt/sounded like the whole suspension was falling out onto the ground when hitting brakes or bad bumps. It snapped/popped/banged wicked loud eek! , just like SHOFEAR said...

I have to check out the bushings. Of course, the front brakes are also going and this evening I noticed my steering while turning to the left is making noise. The money pit continues.
