Does anybody know exactly which size speakers fit into the front doors of a gen 2? I thought when I bought my first set of speakers for the front doors they were the same as the rear deck, well at least thats what it indicates on my reciept. My car was in a shop getting some auto body work done and somebody blew the drivers side speaker which I wasn't to happy about. So I'm looking to get them replaced asap and need to know the right size to buy. Thanks for all the help in advance.

So is there anyway possible a 6 by 8 or 5 by 9 would fit into the front doors? I could have swore I had either one of those installed in there.. I'm trying to remember, lol..

they are 5 1/4 on the front doors 6x9 in the rear deck

I havn't updated my sound system but I do know for sure 5x8's will fit in the back but I've been told and have read that 6.5's will fit in the front. But the post says 5.25 so, I am not exactly sure. That is quite a diffrence in size.

I have aftermarket speakers in my car, and the fronts are stock 5 1/4" speakers, and as for the rear I had to do some fabricating to make the 6x9's fit, but I'm not sure what they are stock.

hope that helps:biggrin:

6.5" should fit no problem. You will have a harder time fitting 5.25" in there and will need a baffle to fill the gap. If you can find a 6" coax or combined component, that would probably be perfect, as my new 6.5" JL VRs were a tad too big for the front brackets and thus needed some cutting. But my old '93 had no problem whatsoever fitting some alpine 6.5" 2-ways.
