Front brake pads HELP!!!

Just did front brakes on 95 SHO. Now i get a rubbing sound when brakes applied. My quest is do the spring/clips attach into the clip holes on the caliper or do they just sit in the caliper and get pushed down. Thanks

they sit in the caliper and the spring pushes them down to keep them aligned.
