front axle shafts/CV question

Just picked up a 1991 MTX but the outer CV boots are torn and the bearings rumble. Am planning upgrade to the 1994/1995 knuckles/hubs/bearings/brakes. But I need to replace both front axle shafts/CV joints.

Here's my question. Will the front axle shafts/CV joints from a gen1 NON-SHO Taurus ATX (junkyard car) fit in my 1991 MTX? I can get them real cheap and they are in pretty good condition.

I second raxles.com....very good service, Very good axles, and lifetime warranty. I have had many probs with rebuild axles, unless you want to do this job twice and spend the same amount in parts, and twice the labor I would do it once and do it right...raxles all the way ;)

They're only $59.99 at O'Reilly's and come with a lifetime warranty. I have had no problems with mine. AutoZone has them too, for the same price I believe, but I am not sure if it's the same brand. Either way, it's better than a junk yard shaft, which can look good on the outside but not the inside.
