Pretty excited.
Just got back from a dealer in Maryland about 100 Miles away.
At end of the day they were around 8K under MSRP and gave me 19K on my trade.
16 SHO,
Shadow Black on Grey/Black
Nav
Driver Assist
Moon roof
The wheels I prefer!
No contour seats but im beyond ecstatic...
In comparison my local dealer could get me the same car (with the seats $600 option) with the flower wheels for around 42-42.5 and they offered me 16.5 on the trade. (vs 39.2 & 19K)
They even offered free delivery to me door... which even sounded more fishy. (but now after this experience, my wife (who has been looking agt edge/explorers) may have one shipped to the door when she is ready to buy...
From the moment I contacted this dealer on the internet this week I was waiting for the catch or bait and switch when I showed up.
it never happened. I was even embarrassed to ask for more (but i still did) and they threw in the all weather mats which they are mailing to me.
I had PA/NJ & NY dealers literally swearing to me that anything under 41.5 was impossible and went as far as saying it was a "scam" for other dealers to advertise that price and those are the worst people in the industry...
I mean... I had an autodraft for 60 months at 2.49% from my credit union and told the dealer I'd be open to their financing as long as it could beat the rate and could be paid off early with no erroneous fees and came back and asked if i want 2.02 @72 months? I even had to pause before being like "ahh sure".
So... did i just get completely lucky or was this just typical salesman lingo to make people avoid looking for these deals...?
I95 North didnt offer to0 many opportunities to open her up on a Friday afternoon but I took what I could and was pretty impressed. Real smooth ride. A cruiser with power for sure.
And my wife is proud of me for buying a good "family car" Taurus....
Now just need to go get PA inspection/emission on a new car. (makes sense)

Thanks to everyone for all the advice and suggestions in this thread.
