Well, as a continuation of this thread ( http://www.shoforum.com/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=004306 ), the car wouldn't start on me once again. I then came back about 3 hours later, still wouldn't go. Came back about another 3 hours later, and I turned it over normally and it still wouldn't start. I then put my foot to the floor, and turned it over, and she spuddered and started.

Now, this is leading me to think that somehow it is getting flooded. When it didn't start last time I know it was getting fuel (plugs were soaked) and spark. When I floored it, I'm essentially opening up the air flow which deconcentrates the fuel-air mixture and allows it to start. Also, after sitting for a period of time some of the fuel can evaporate. Which brings me to the question why is it flooding? Too much gas? Not enough spark? Wrong timing?

I know it can't be the CPS because the tach works and I'm getting spark. All I can imagine it being is my flooding idea or some timing issue with the computer.

Please give any ideas/opinions/thoughts you may have.

Thanks,

-Adam

How exactly have you verified all plugs have spark and fuel pressure is correct? How old are the plugs and wires? Are there any codes? Possible CID.

Plugs and wires are 100k old, I have new ones on the way already.

As far as verifying fuel pressure, I have no way to do so. But when it doesn't start it will burble one, then not fire at all, and when I pull the plugs to check them, they are soaked with gasoline.

I pulled the codes (did it 3 times) and got 3,3,1,3,3 all 3 times, and that isn't a valid code, so beats me, lol.

What's the CID?

Thanks,

You may have a leaking fuel injector.

CID= Cylinder IDentification sensor AKA camshaft position sensor.

I doubt one leaky injector would cause a no start condition, but I could be wrong. I'm going to put new valve cover gaskets, plug well seals, plugs and wires in it on Thursday because it needs it anyways.

Any more ideas?

The codes you actually read were, for the hard faults, "111" and the repeat "111" then the single separator pulse, then the memory codes of "111" and the repeat "111." The "111" is an all clear code and tells me that you have either very low fuel pressure or no spark due to a failed CPS or no spark plug wires. How did you verify that you have spark? Eh?

I checked spark by pulling a wire off, putting a spark testor on the wire, and cranking it over. It gave a strong blue spark.

I then pulled out a plug, put it in the wire, and set it on the block, and again got a nice spark.

Also, many people have told me that if the CPS is the culprit, my tach will not work. And even when it won't start my tach goes up while turning it over.

As far as fuel pressure goes, maybe it does have low pressure. I bought a new filter and am going to put it in tonight (hopefully) to see if it makes any difference. If I can get ahold of a pressure tester, where is a good place to tap into the line to see if I have suffiecent pressure, and what is suffecient pressure?

Thanks.

Run a search for correct fuel pressure. I'm not positive of the correct range but I know it was on here not long ago.
You can get a gauge to measure fuel pressure at any autoparts store. Attach it to the schraeder valve on the fuel rail. Look for the valve that looks like one you find on a tire.

Well I am having this exact same issue with my 93 sho. it has about 130,000 miles on it. I just finished replacing the fuel pume and fuel filter this seemed to fix the issue for a day and not it is back again. I also seem to be geting spark, have you found a way to re adjust the crant sensor?
