It has been a month or two since I sent an update about the 1994 3.2 in my 1926 model T. Things are progressing smoothly although it took more than a month to get the radiator. Now that we can run the motor for some time I can begin to collect codes. This weekend I am borrowing a reader from a friend who owns a repair garage. He claims I may need a VIN number to satisfy the reader. Only having the motor and no car, would anyone out there mind lending me a 1994 3.2 SHO VIN in case the reader needs a number? If you are willing but do not want to post here, my direct email address in [email protected].
Otherwise she runs and sounds strong but lights the check engine light. Not surprised after having hacked most of the wiring harness and pulling a few used sensors out of a spare motor. A couple of photos attached.
Thanks again,
Jim

EBay has been unusually empty of the Gen I/II listings lately, otherwise I'd have suggested looking there.

I am not aware of any code reader that needs a VIN...

Yes, they usually want the 5th digit, which for an auto tranny car's computer is a "P". Jim, if you are using any other PCM like from a manual car, you will need the 5th digit from one of those VIN's.

If you are using the ATX PCM, you will get codes for anything that is missing from the Automatic transaxle.

Tom and others, thanks.
I am using an auto trans wiring harness and, as you know Tom, adapted a C4 so we will see what codes pop up. I know I need the resistor to replace the gear shift position indicator to overcome the rev limiter. Other than the speedo sensor, all other trans related wiring has been removed from the harness. What should I expect? Where can if find the 'dictionary of codes'?
Thanks again,
Jim
