went to ford today to get a check valve and for 89 mtx sho 2 were listed E53Z-9H318-A for 7.99 and E2BZ-9H318-A for 10.22. there was no description so i ordered both.
What is the difference and Which one should i be using?

Also what effect can the higher lph fuel pumps have on the stock fuel system, ie. check valve, FPR, injectors? Premature component failure?

half-way there, I think.
Depends on the pump size, but there has been no evidence to suggest a problem with using a larger pump. It has pretty much been proving that anything larger than a 190ph pump for an N/A car is overkill. I would recomend that pump. BTW - every fuel pump I have purchased had the check valve intergrated into it.
