I guess its been there for a while...Some of the body has rust, the best part is...its black and it has a rust free good condition driver side fender. I left my number w/the guy at the shop and he said he was gonna get in touch w/the owner about price.

Now...for my questions.

1. The owner tried to wire a different DIS Module on the car headbang That does not sound like a good thing to me. I think the guy at the shop said that the car comes with a new SHO DIS Module...but it needs to be re-wired in order to run with it. What kind of work am I looking at here? I want the intake for my 89

2. There are what looks to me light mice nests under the hood. That tells me that it more than likely will not run even with the new DIS Module.

Not sure about the miles. It has a inspection for 2001...anywhere from 100k and up I would think. shrug

What should I pay for this? I'm guessing around the 500 dollar area. The interior is pretty worn...really dirty. It does have a black interior as well and I'm in the process of getting new seats from Foxwolf (Justin) that are really nice, and I could use the headliner and dash.

My last question, what are the differences between a 89 and a 90 SHO? I know the stering wheel is...what else? The fender is the same rigt? Any help/input is appreciated...Thanks!

$500 dollars seems reasonable to me for a complete non running SHO. ****, the tranny alone is worth double that. I bought my junkyard 90 for $475, and drove it home, now I'm parting it out. The differences between the 89 and 90 are few. Here's what the 89's didn't have: ABS, Electronic Climate Control, Airbag, Different dashboard, and I think, but not sure, the 89's didn't come with sunroofs. The fender will fit fine on any gen I SHO. Not sure what you mean by "rewiring" the DIS. If somebody cut and spliced the connectors and wires, it shouldn't be that hard to fix it, it'll just look like a mess. Although, adding butt connectors to wiring increases the resistance in the wire, and may screw up a signal sent to the computer. But I'd buy the thing anyways...

There is also two plugs above the transmission that are male on the engine side of the harness on the 89 and they are female on the 90.(that might be the other way around but you get the idea) That won't make much difference unless you are swapping motors or replacing a wiring harness. Fixing the wires for the dis shouldn't be too hard. The best way to do it would either be to trace the cut wires to their place of origin and run a new wire or find another harness. Using butt and/or solder connectors is fine too but the chances of having more problems that way is a lot higher.

I have a 89 with electronic climate control and one with out, they both have moonroofs. Thanks for the advice and more is welcomed and encouraged. Thanks guys, think I'll be buying the car instead of paying to get the paint matched and what not. Then I can gain the experience of taking off/swapping fenders and a car that I can just rip apart just to see how it goes back together. Cool....Thanks again guys!

You might be able to sell a lot of parts off of the junk SHO too if ya need to. I was gonna fix up this 90, but at the price of SHO parts nowadays, I'd go broke! So now it's part out time...

And....I still don't have a clear answer about the DIS sensor, I'm pretty sure that is what the guy said was wrong with the car, some ******** tried to wire a different(more than likely SLO) module on there and the car will not run as is. Anyone have some wireing diagrams for modules? If so, I'll take any diagrams for any sensor. My step dad knows his electric stuff and he said if he has a diagram to go from, he could do it. Again, all help is appreciated...it will be about 2 weeks or so till I get the car(assuming the price is right)

The fuel pump woes I've been having is gonna set me back a week or so. Damn things! 1.6 hours of labor sound right for pump, sender, strainer and filter?

Nope...its in ALBION of all places...my little home town had a old SHO sitting out back of the shop right on Main Street...never saw it, 'till a few days ago. Its got a 2001 inspection on the sticker, and along with the module problem...thats all I'm aware of. I could care less about that kind of stuff at this time. I just want it for the fender and the intake, maybe the front bumper if it is good shape.

I mean, if I could get it to run, maybe I could throw some of my old 89 body parts on it and have a 2 tone Black/Titanium Gray 89/90 SHO...I guess...it would have my current 89 intake, and some of the old SHO's body pieces...and the bum black fender and or bumper.

The powerplant in my dead SHO is going to Foxwolf(Justin) in exchange for some nice black leather/cloth seats :D Then I will be junking the remainder of the car...then I will have another junk sho to tinker with...whenever I sqeeze a few hours out of no where...and who knows what will happen if I can fix the module and I turn the key and it fires up...I doubt it though, there are nests and shit under the hood and that does not sound promising to me.

I could part it out...I would part it out cheap, if I part it out...*hint*hint*

There is a SHO at Zerniak`s? What year? Locked in gear would be a really dry, rusted ass tranny or blown pin right? Do you happen to know what color it is? Just in case I need a part of something.

Wow SHO's in a boneyard.. Not around here anyway. I'd let my non-running SHO's go for around that price though. If there are animals living in the motor compartment.. chances are they feasted on the wiring at least partially. Unless of course they tried to drink the antifreeze first. :)

Here are a few other small differances between 89 and the 90: The door panels on the 89s have a chrome strip on them, they have a smaller speaker grill, and they have a small flare where they meet the dash. The center console on the 89 has cubby mounted on top of the console forward of the shifter and the 90 has a roll top box that is flush with the console top. AFAIK the only features that were on the 90s that were not on 89 were: ABS, drivers side air bag, in dash CD player, and black as an interior color. The rear brakes are different (because of the ABS) and the 90's had an SHO logo center cap on the weaves.

The one at Zerniaks was also a black 90.They wanted $600 for the whole car and wouldn`t part it out.It wasn`t worth it because it was shot. After 2 years of sittingin the lot,it was gone last time i went there.I`m going out again today,i`ll have to take another look.

JT- Yeah, make sure it is still there...I want to make sure I'm not buying that one...doesn't sound as promising as the one I found. Even if it is...the driver side fender and the intake look like they are in good shape...and that alone is worth it to me. I don't wanna pay almost 500 bucks to get the paint matched on the bumper and the fender.
