Heres a couple pics I took today during my oil change... did it myself and noticed the front turbo looks to be weaping a little oil? The aft one doesnt have any oil on it at all. Also took a pic of the scatter shield so you can see some of the oil on it. the car doesnt leave spots in the driveway or anything.

I just had my rear turbo replaced and I have a 2010. It was leaking all kinds of oil inside the intake tubing Pull your intake hose just before the throttle body and see if there's any oil inside. There's a bad non-serviceable seal inside the turbo.

Either way take it in to the dealership for a new turbo. I think you're the first with a front turbo, everyone else has all had bad rear turbo's.

I have put 3 rear turbos on for oil leaks including my own. I have put 1 front turbo on a customers Flex for a oil leak. I only fixed 1 turbo oil leak with the updated tube and gasket Ford released last year.

Maybe you will get lucky and it will only be the tube and gasket however the front turbo isnt a big deal to change if its leaking.

Do it soon before it becomes a big mess and before your warranty expires.

I had a very similar look on my front turbo. They told me the PCV valve was clogged causing oil to drip onto the turbo making it appear to be leaking. I have not gone back in yet to check this repair as it literally just happened. But I hope to soon. My 2010 has 39000 on it.

Does this issue seem to be limited to the 2010 model year? Cheech, did the updated tube and gasket fix get installed from the factory in any particular model year, and only released as a retrofit recently, or is my 2011 likely at risk as well? My warranty will clearly expire from time versus mileage (only have 7500 miles on my car and owned it since June 2010).

Updated tube and gasket is for ENGINEs built before 1/11/10. Ford still wants the tube checked for leaks on 10/11 before turbo replacement. Most of the time its the turbo not the tube.
Without a leak its unlikely the dealer is going to replace anything because parts are updated all the time.

I did notice this about 6 months ago actually but just didnt think anything of it (im not a turbo guy so I didnt know if it was normal or not) and thats why I took the pics and put it up this time around.

It looks the exact same as it did 6 months ago, so I think its a very small leak. Either way I need to call ford and have it checked out soon...
