Last year the Kohler International Challenge event was sponsored by corporate Ford Motor Company, not just the local dealers. The dates are July 15 - 18. They had a VERY big presence there with lots of different displays and interactive stuff. There was a huge tent devoted to the GT40, Drift Racing, Off Road, etc.

One of the events included test drives on one of the Pro Cart tracks that included the new 2010 SHO. All you had to do was sign a sheet and wait in line for your turn. You could go as many times as you wanted and high speeds were encouraged by the attending Ford staffers. It was a blast!

Although I'm not certain about what is planned for this year I am hoping for a big splash by Ford again. Maybe someone in the club with closer ties to Ford would be able to nose around and get a better idea of their plans.

I know it's the weekend following our convention but I'll be going for certain as we live 15 minutes from the track. Anyone else want to join in? Maybe with a little advanced notice/planning we could field a SHO contingent to show some support for Ford? Just thinkin.........

Also for you Nascar fans RA will be hosting the "NASCAR Nationwide RA 200" this year. The event takes place on June 17 - 20. All of the information is available at: http://www.roadamerica.com

Andy wasn't Steve Ling there last year, then he brought the new car to the convention? Ryan you got his personal cell #, give him a call. lol
I'm getting kinda PO'd here, wanted to run vacation 2 weeks with convention the first week, and Kenturky the second which would make me miss this.
I've had MANY thoughts of a large turn out, with Ryans Turtle leading the SHO's in a lunchtime lapping session.

I didn't see Steve there when we were but that doesn't mean he wasn't there somewhere. It's pretty spead out as you well know. Colton and I went on Saturday with Todd and some of his friends.

During the breaks last year they had the drift racers giving rides around the main track and at the test drive track. I was lucky enough to be chosen for a ride with a drifter while standing in line for one of my turns in the NEW sho.

I'd love to make a lapping session at "America's Theme Park of Speed"! Let's get some participation lined up. We have room at the "SHO ranch" for overnighters.

Just getting back into the wonderful and fulltime hobby of owning a SHO. I owned a red MTX about 4 years ago, made some bad decisions and wrecked it. I recently found another 1993 MTX that had been sitting in someones garage for the last 5 years and is in very nice shape. I got it running again about two weeks ago and have since been throwing money at it left and right to get it in good form for summer. :) Just installed a 2 row radiator and started pulling the A/C out today. Still needs a front CV that I can hear clicking @ low speeds, rear struts and some brake work before I start driving it daily. I also live about 15 min from road america and would enjoy bringing my new pride and joy out there for a cruise to meet you fellow SHO enthusiats.

My plan as of now is to head home from convention Friday morning, Sharon will be in the van w/ Tommy, me in the SHO, check the car and van over and sleep here Friday night.
If the car is OK I want to leave for SHOboygan Sat. and pitch a tent in Andys back yard Sat evening, drink all his beer and go to the track Sunday, drive back home Sun night.

I hope to be able to speak to the Ford Rep in June regarding the event. I will keep all informed if I am able to find anything out. I know they are sponsoring again

Haven't logged into the site in a while guys, sorry. I Live pretty close to Fond du Lac. The taurus is looking and running pretty good these days. I had the intake off and cleaned the runners, new intake gaskets, new plugs and wires just this past weekend. I think I gained about 20 horse back, jeez! Lol. I will be attending the superbike event at Road America this weekend, will probably end up taking the SHO out there since I do not have a bike.
